Convention & Visitors Association

The Wicomico County Convention & Visitors Association (CVA) is a membership organization composed of over 150 Wicomico County businesses, organizations and individuals. CVA members work together alongside Wicomico County Tourism to promote themselves and Wicomico County as a whole to both current residents and visitors to the area.

The Wicomico County CVA’s mission is to cooperatively market Wicomico County as a destination to all Meetings & Conventions; Tour & Travel; Sports Marketing and Leisure segments and to support the Wicomico County Convention and Visitors Bureau in their efforts to sell, promote and book business in Wicomico County.

CVA membership benefits are plentiful. Members have the chance to network and share special event or new product information with other members during monthly CVA meetings as well as receive group and convention leads. Members also benefit from exclusive and free listings on the Wicomico Tourism web site and in the annual Visitor’s Guide. Demonstrate your commitment to the betterment of Wicomico County and help your business/organization succeed by joining the CVA, all for the low price of $175 per year (January-December). Wicomico County Visitors Guide

Wicomico County CVA members receive a free listing in the annual Visitor’s Guide and can purchase advertising at a discounted rate. The Visitor’s Guide contains valuable information for potential visitors to Wicomico County. Copies of the Visitor’s Guide are distributed at Visitor Information Centers throughout Maryland, trade shows and local businesses. Mailed copies are sent to groups, conventions and individuals that have requested information on the area. Trade Show Representation and Leads

Wicomico Tourism represents all CVA members at the local, regional and national trade shows it attends. CVA members are entitled to receive the leads generated by these trade shows. As a lead is received, CVA members are given the opportunity to offer goods or services to these conventions and conferences. The name of the group, date of the event, contact information and expected attendance is shared with members.

CVA Membership Meetings

Wicomico County CVA members gather together each month to discuss current and upcoming tourism initiatives and network. The meeting’s location rotates among those members that volunteer to serve as the meetings’ host and is usually held the morning of the second Tuesday of each month. Invitations are sometimes extended to representatives of various community organizations to share information on their own initiatives to increase tourism to Wicomico County.

Member to Member Benefits

CVA members strengthen their individual efforts by working together to promote their own businesses as well as Wicomico County as a whole. Members support each other’s businesses as patrons and through recommendations. Many CVA businesses offer discounts to other members to encourage increased stimulation of the local community.

Advertising

CVA members can take advantage of exclusive advertising and cooperative advertising opportunities made available by Wicomico Tourism. Members also receive discounted advertising rates in Wicomico Tourism publications including the annual Visitor’s Guide and special event programs.

E-Newsletters

Wicomico Tourism publishes two electronic newsletters on a monthly basis one for visitors and another for CVA members. As a CVA member, you will have the opportunity to include special offers and events in either or both newsletters. Additionally, each newsletter issue contains a feature on an individual CVA member. New members are also welcomed and can share information about their business in the monthly CVA newsletter.

On-Line Listings

Each CVA member receives a free listing on the Wicomico Tourism website that includes business contact information, a company description, image/logo and website link.

Membership Directory

A CVA membership directory is created on an annual basis and is made available to all CVA members.

Relocation Leads

Upon request, CVA members will be sent contact information for those who request relocation information from the Wicomico Tourism Office.

Tax Deduction

The cost of your annual CVA membership investment may be tax deductible as a business expense.
