The success of Wicomico Tourism’s annual festivals and special events would not be possible without the help of volunteers. Volunteering for Wicomico County is a wonderful way to explore your hometown and discover all that it has to offer. It is also a great way to make a positive impact on the community and meet new people.

The Autumn Wine Festival, Pork in the Park, the Health & Wellness Expo plus many other events throughout the year rely on the help of volunteers. Each Wicomico Tourism event offers a variety of volunteering opportunities and multiple time frames to fit your schedule. Each event also offers specific benefits to volunteers; these benefits are explained on the individual volunteer forms below but often include a free T-shirt and festival admission.

Volunteer Opportunities

Autumn Wine Festival
Do you love wine, the great outdoors, delicious food and live entertainment? Join us for the Autumn Wine Festival at Pemberton Historical Park in Salisbury, Maryland. Hosted by Wicomico Recreation, Parks & Tourism, this two-day festival is slated for Saturday, October 17th and Sunday, October 18th. Wine festival hours are Saturday from 11:00am until 8:00pm and Sunday from 12:30pm until 6:00pm (Volunteer hours vary). Now in its seventh year, this event offers wine tastings (included with admission), wine by the glass and bottle purchases from 21 incredible Maryland wineries, a variety of arts and crafts, live music performances, and tasty regional cuisine.

Pork in the Park
Wicomico County Recreation, Parks & Tourism hosts a Pork in the Park Barbeque Festival in April of each year. The festival offers a weekend of live music, unique vendors, cold beverages, and mouthwatering BBQ the whole family will enjoy. Pork in the Park is held at Winterplace Park (6737 Blue Ribbon Road) in Salisbury.

Health & Wellness Expo
This free event allows community members to take control of their health. The Wicomico County Convention & Visitor’s Association and Peninsula Regional Medical Center work in partnership for this exciting event at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center which features over 30 free health screenings, entertainment and health-related exhibitors.
